Michael Krake is head of the Economics, Trade, Employment and Digitisation Division at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Over the past 15 years, he has performed various tasks in the Federal Government. Most recently, he was head of the BMZ’s management team. From 2007 to 2012 he lived and worked in East Africa. In Kenya he was regional coordinator of the BMZ on drought resilience in the Horn of Africa; in Uganda he represented development policy at the German Embassy.
Before joining BMZ, he was a management consultant at McKinsey&Company. Michael Krake holds a degree in economics and studied in Bonn and New York.
